Migraine/Headache Essential Oils

Migraines have been with me since I was a young girl and treatment has been difficult to come by. There wasn't much at all in the terms of "modern" medicine when I was younger minus being used as a test subject, so I shied away from treatment or even discussing this condition with my Doctor.

Now as an older adult I'm glad that I have an amazing Primary Care Physician who not only understands about migraines but also my hesitance to try new medications or treatments. We have a wonderful treatment plan using Botox but I still get breakthrough headaches and migraines. For those I use ice and my essential oil roller and life is much easier.

The ingredients in the roller ball not only add aroma therapy to aid in your relief, the oils also improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and aid in relaxation. The roller ball itself also adds a cooling sensation which also aids in pain relief.

You can watch a quick clip on how to assemble here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJtDUy5u/

General Ingredients:

  • Peppermint Oil

  • Eucalyptus Oil

  • Rosemary Oil

  • Lavender Oil

  • Chamomile Oil

Carrier Oil (just one)

  • Almond Oil

  • Grapeseed Oil

  • Avocado Oil

  • Pumpkin Seed Oil

  • Sunflower oil

My remedy amounts:

  • Peppermint Oil .40 ml

  • Eucalyptus Oil .20 ml

  • Rosemary Oil .30 ml

  • Lavender Oil .30 ml

  • Almond Oil .50 ml or until roller bottle is to fill line

A carrier oil is important because it helps balance the mixture of oils, dilutes the oils so they aren't too concentrated, and helps deliver appropriate amounts via the roller ball. I personally like almond oil as a carrier because it's super thin and scent free. If you're allergic to nuts or live with someone who is, you'll want to use something different on the list.

To make this you will want a glass roller bottle and a measured dropper. Then simply put your essential oils into your roller bottle using the measured dropper and then add the carrier oil. Before you place the metal roller ball top onto the bottle make sure you roll the ball into a

drop of your carrier oil first. This lubricates the roller and get's it ready to glide on smoothly. Snap on your roller ball top and you are ready to go.

I keep a roller bottle in my night stand and my purse so I always have it with me. When I feel a headache start coming I'll put a dab on my wrists and behind my ears. If a migraine comes then I'll place it on my temples, forehead, back of neck, and behind my ears.

I make these to order if you would rather it custom made for you. I know how much relief it gives me and am happy to make them.
